The Argyle Pink Diamond’s 2023 Tender is a unique event that showcases some of the most extraordinarily rare masterpieces of the natural world – fancy coloured diamonds. Once a year, diamonds that are judged to be exceptional in size, colour and shape are given a 'Tender' status and are made available through a blind bidding process. For this year’s tender labelled ‘The Art Series’ I produced a series of artworks that responded to selected Masterpiece sets of diamonds from the Tender.
The Artworks responded to the theme ‘Born of this world’ celebrating the magical and improbable forces and conditions required to create these precious stones. and sat alongside an animated tender film that abstractly portrays the earthly events that led to the birth of these exquisite natural formations. The Artworks and film were displayed at the event as it travelled around the world.

A collaboration with Art Pharmacy for Dexus’ 80 Collins and 180 Flinders redevelopments. With a guiding curatorial narrative of “Scale in Nature” I produced 2 works; Saltation and Erosion.
Saltation recreates the process of wind shaping the earth to form structures and patterns such as those found in sand dunes. While Erosion reflects on the processes involved in creating rock formations such as gorges and cliffs, giving viewers an appreciation of the natural formations around us.
It was a pleasure working with the Art Pharmacy team on this one.

In 2020 we were fortunate enough to produce 8 significant installations for the new WA Museum Boola Bardip across four of their permanent galleries. A selection of which, shown here, are:
Parthenon Frieze - a projection mapped installation on the replica Parthenon frieze installed in the innovations gallery that tells the history of the frieze and allows users to interactively 'paint' the frieze through projection. Whadjuk Boodja - a projection mapped installation that shows the changes Perth has undergone over time.
Shaping the Future which we produced for the Changes gallery - an interactive projection installation discussing our impact on the environment.
Two projects for the Origins gallery; Under one sky - an immersive projection exhibit looking at the history of the universe from diverse perspectives and Dreaming Story - a projection mapped installation telling the tale of Mandaboorbap the Eagle rock.
It was an absolute privilege to get to tell these stories and be part of such an iconic redevelopment. Without a doubt this was the largest project I have ever worked on and I was extremely lucky to find a team of collaborators who went above and beyond to deliver these works.

Huge thank you to the Museum Curators and Staff and to everyone who allowed us to help tell their stories. It was an amazing experience and it's been great to see people in the Museum interacting with the works.
An interactive experience for Bombay Sapphire at Carriageworks in Sydney. A collaboration with longtime friends @iankanik and @beamhacker to create a touch sensitive bar that triggered LED lighting and interactive projections - the latter of which I was responsible for. I built the projections in @notchvfx a real-time motion graphics engine that allowed a fully interactive experience for the audience. I went from never having used the program to completing this project in about a 2 month period, which says a lot for the ease of use - especially coming from a Cinema 4d background. It took some optimisation to get the scene to run smoothly, but overall I think Notch is an exciting new tool for motion design and interactive installations, and a great step away from never ending renders.
The visuals were inspired by natural growth and square cut sapphires that also influenced the shapes and furniture in the space, including the LED hypercubes which were triggered when someone walked underneath them. Big thanks to @thinkingloudau and @bombaysapphire for allowing us to really go to town on this!

The all-new Karrinyup has launched with an integrated campaign that brings to life their ‘WA on Stage’ platform. The all-Western-Australian-based effort showcases an incredible spectrum of creative talent. We were brought on board early in the campaign to concept and create the visual effects for the campaign, helping to develop a sense of wonder and excitement around the Karrinyup brand. We kept it fruity with the VFX and were responsible for everything throughout the VFX pipeline, working collaboratively with the director, agency and client throughout the process.

I had the amazing opportunity to collaborate with Nike and Ta-ku @takubeats to create a 7-floor art installation that celebrates Nike Air! A sensory journey paying homage to air, reinterpreting the design language and history of 7 innovative Air Max silhouettes to create new forms of life. The evolution of Nike, shape-shifted and redefined to celebrate the endless opportunity of Air.
I was responsible for the design and execution of all 3D elements, the design and layout of the physical panels for the installation and was also heavily involved in the concept and pitching phase.
The project was produced by Pretty Soon and commissioned by Archetype Media & Nike.

We teamed up with Space Between on a new campaign for JD Sports & Nike Sportswear showcasing 4 women killing it in their respective fields. We built out 3D Environments and motion content representing the personality and interests of each individual, creating a space that was uniquely theirs. Using the beautifully crafted Avatars and 3-D apparel produced by Phoria we put together both stills and 3-D motion content for the campaign, which was artfully soundtracked by Bespoke.

2021 marked the final Argyle Pink Diamonds tender event and the end of physical production of Argyle diamonds. Whilst this marked the end of an era, we wanted to showcase that the story and legacy of the existing stones will live on into the future through Journey Beyond.
Taking our cues from the amazing physical catalogue produced by Becky Chilcott and Jade Foo which integrated a map of the Argyle site and the celestial positions at the opening and closing of production, we wanted to create the sense that the history of the existing stones will continue to exist beyond the end of physical production.

Really pleased to share something we've been working on for the last twelve months!
Introducing Continuum, a collaboration between mixed cultural First Peoples artist and maker Lisa Waup, Craft, and Western Australian new media artist Sam Price for client Charter Hall.
This work was created for the lobby of their new offices at 130 Lonsdale in the heart of the Melbourne CBD and translates elements of Lisa's craft practice — from naturally found materials, experimental printmaking processes and weaving into the digital space. Celebrating shared connections of Country and community, the work details extended paths of continuum.
“Continuum details a sequence of adjoining elements in a progression of connection at varying degrees of perception. These cannot be perceptibly altered from each other— they are one. One does not exist without the other, they are harmonised in every way - akin.” – Lisa Waup

Turns out 2020 was a pretty strange year, and with most events cancelled or rescheduled, Argyle Pink Diamonds found themselves needing to move their usual tender event online for the first time. We had the privilege of working with Argyle to produce motion content that helped bring life to this online event, as well as being used by their customers in store and online as well.
The piece tells the story of a Gouldian Finch, a bird of particular significance to the Argyle region, that brings the magic and vibrancy of an Argyle Pink Diamond to a lifeless forest – stimulating new growth and bringing vitality back to the region.
The work was based on the amazing illustration and design that Becky Chilcott of Chil3 and Jade Foo produced for the Tender catalogue.
A journey to the edges of taste, music and imagination. Bombay Sapphire presents a sensory adventure to the ends of the earth, where the gin’s botanicals are sourced.
I had the pleasure of working with Bombay Sapphire to realise Project Botanicals, an immersive experience of cocktails, food, and creative technology in collaboration with TA-KU and Studio Neon.
I produced a seamless 4 part loop representing the journey of the botanicals from deep water, through the ground and land, to the sky.
The content was projected at large scale in an immersive environment with accompanying music by Ta-ku. The full journey took an hour to unfold before seamlessly looping back to the beginning and starting the process again.

Hive Mind is my first gallery exhibited artwork, produced as part of the Light Geist exhibition curated by Erin Coates at Fremantle Arts Centre.
The installation uses projection to map the glowing, synaptic impulses of a human mind onto an intricate hexagonal structure. Using data drawn from personal neurological scans, the installation wrestles with ideas of creativity and identity in the connected digital age.

I had the pleasure of collaborating with Ta-ku and Intel for Ta-ku's performance at the Sydney Opera House for Vivid Live. I was commissioned to produce 4 new concert visuals using new technology from Intel that were shown both inside the Opera House during Ta-ku's performance as well as outside via the 'Sound Cells' installation that ran throughout the Vivid Festival.
This video gives you a little insight into the process behind putting the show together.
Building on the success of the Ta-ku x RBMA project, I was asked by Ta-ku and his label Future Classic to flesh out the visuals into a full feature set of content.
This was a huge undertaking, with over 40 minutes of custom content produced in total, but it was truly a dream to work on this project for such an amazing artist that we admire so much.
This is a small reel of the new work produced for the show.
The show debuted at the Museum of Modern Art PS1 space in New York on October 25th 2015.
